Hackers have threatened to put out nude photos users of Snapchat have sent to themselves. Users who have been accessing the photo messaging service through 3rd party apps are said to be vulnerable because their uploads have been intercepted by hackers.
Half of Snapchat users are people between the ages of 13 and 17, there are fears photos of young adults will be released. The photos will be released on social network 4chan.
“Snapchatters were victimised by their use of third-party apps to send and receive Snaps, a practice that we expressly prohibit in our Terms of Use precisely because they compromise our users’ security.
“We vigilantly monitor the App Store and Google Play for illegal third-party apps and have succeeded in getting many of these removed.” Snapchat said in a statement.
The intercepted photos, around 13GB were put available for downloads yesterday but have been removed, words are that the photos will be made fully online on Sunday. Each photo will be linked to its username when leaked.

However, some doubted the authenticity of the images, suggesting many of them were duplicates or “fake”.
