Nigerian military launches airstrike in Bama

 
In a bid to recapture Bama, Borno State, from Boko Haram, the Nigerian military today deployed warplanes to flush out the insurgents. It would be recalled that Nigerian military denied that the town has been captured by the insurgents but a senior military official told Reuters that air strikes had also been launched against Boko Haram’s bases across the state:

“Bama today is the centre of the military battle with the terrorists… Boko Haram is being repelled by the Nigerian troops as we are talking now,” he said.
A resident of Maiduguri also told TheCable that that planes were seen flying towards the direction of the town.The Defence HQ minutes ago took to twitter to assure Nigerians that they will do everything possible to defend the country.
